Chiropractic Spinal Adjustments

Rejuvenate Life Chiropractic offers both manual adjustments (performed with the doctors hands) and instrument adjustments (performed with adjusting tools).

Many patients will experience both types of adjustments.  Customization of what each individual needs at any present moment will determine the type of adjustment performed.

Chiropractic Dry Needling

Chiropractic dry needling is a way to positively affect the movement patterns in the body and helps to eliminate chronic pain patterns.  Dry needling works with the fascial systems of the body.  Fascia is the type of tissue that separates layers of muscle tissues or organs from one another. If abnormal fascial patterns exist, it negatively affects the whole kinetic chain.   Fascial disruptions cause distortions in movement patterns and negatively affect the nervous system.

Craniosacral Techniques Session

According to upledger.com,

“CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety. ”

Reiki Sessions

Reiki, as summarized by Cleveland Clinic, is an ancient Japanese healing practice that is a form of energy healing.    The Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning vital life force energy are the basis of what Reiki is. The idea is that a practitioner can channel the “universal life force energy” and transfer the energy to the client. A practitioner can hover their hands above the client or lightly place their hands on the client. The Reiki practitioner acts as a “conduit” for the universal life force energy that exists around us, it is not the practitioners energy that is given to the client. Clients may experience some of the following after a session: better sleep, reduced anxiety, boosted mood, reduced pain, increased energy, and improved blood circulation.

Extremity Adjusting

Adjusting, manipulating or mobilizing all the joints, besides the spine include:

  • Shoulder(s), elbow(s), wrist(s), hand(s)
  • Hip(s), knee(s), ankle(s),  foot/feet
  • Finger(s)/Toe(s)
  • Ear ossicles
  • Jaw
  • Ribs
  • Visceral Manipulation

Soft-Tissue Mobilization

Utilizing techniques that address soft-tissue changes in the body is crucial to help the joint function optimally.  Releasing tight and irritated tissues play a large role in patient outcomes with the treatment.  It is vitally important to address the health of all the components of the joint for optimal results.

Exercises

It is very common to have certain exercises prescribed for the patient to complete at home. The doctor is only able to be with the patient a very small portion of the time between visits. It is important to give patients the tools that they need in order to help them recover appropriately from the condition that is ailing them

Visceral Manipulation

Being able to use muscle-energy techniques to affect the internal organs is another area of focus at Rejuvenate Life Chiropractic.

It is important to understand the connection between all soft tissues, and the body.  There are similar receptors in the soft tissues that surround the viscera as well as that surround a joint.  Keeping those soft tissues communicating properly with the rest of the nervous system is essential for maintaining the health of the body.

Orthopedics

At Rejuvenate Life Chiropractic, people and families of all ages are welcome. In general, Dr. Erin focuses on restoring normal nervous system function as it relates to orthopedics or all the joints in the body.  Every joint may have abnormal nervous system communication as well as abnormal function.

At Rejuvenate Life Chiropractic, the focus is on restoring the function of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and bone. Adjusting, manipulating or mobilizing the joints, or viscera are terms that are used for the correction of joint (including all the surrounding tissues) function.

Proper Joint Function

Chiropractic care can help restore normal joint function.

It is of utmost importance to have a properly functioning body and nervous system.  The brain receives messages from receptors that are located in the soft tissues that surround the joint.  They are stretch, pressure, tension, and proprioceptors.  A proprioceptor is a scientific word that describes a receptor that receives information as to where the limbs are in space, relative to body position.  All of these receptors communicate with the brain and the brain communicates back with the tissues to determine how well the joint functions.
